Profile:Jason Burton started his professional career as a graphic designer, which included stints in St. Louis, Richmond and New York City. During that time he was awarded with design honors, including work published in industry books and publications. He also served as a chapter President of the American Institute of Graphic Arts for two terms.
Besides design, Jason always had an interest for unique beverages. He left New York to discover the world of specialty coffee with The Roasterie. He worked as Marketing Manager for four years focusing on everything from design and public relations to web marketing. Wanting to further follow his passion for food and beverage, he went to work as Brand Director for the Houlihan’s Restaurants specialty concepts, where he also served on their beverage and menu teams. In the fall of 2009, he created LAB 5702. The LAB is a boutique company that develops and produces marketing solutions for brands in the beverage industry. The LAB's Jason Burton currently writes a monthly column called Liquid Language in Tastebud magazine. He has presented at many industry events and lectures on the subjects of branding, social media and drink development. He is the founder of an underground Drink Club, which is part of a movement to deliver education and awareness towards specialty beverages. |
